A smaller and flatter grain than Togo leather, this exquisite version of Barenia leather was introduced in 2017.
The texture makes this version of Barenia less prone to scratches.

Barenia Faubourg is created in the same way as smooth Barenia which is mastered by only a handful or tanners.
 
What we do know about the closely guarded secret to create this sublime leather is it takes a complex and time process or double tanning the skin in chrome and vegetable dyes.  Followed by soaking the skin for more than five weeks in a combination of nine different oils then finally dried, finished and cut.

Only handled by expert craftsmen to assemble the bag it is finished by double-stitched beeswax coated natural linen thread and completed with the foil-less blind stamp.

The unique beauty of this leather is revealed as the color evolves with wear.  Known for developing a rich patina, many scratches are able to rub out with a finger due to the heavy oiling process. 

The grain of Barenia Faubourg is more resistant to scratches, but less so to water.  Always carry your raincoat in your bag for any unexpected changes in weather.  

Due the extensive process to create this marvelous leather it is rarely offered and is a prized addition to any Hermes collector.
